FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What size events can you handle?
The Bar can provide a great time for as many guests as you have.
What type of events can you do?
We service all types of events! We love all private parties including weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties, large gatherings, and corporate events. We also love public events such as non-profit events, fundraisers, and festivals. Any event where you may desire a drink, we can help you out.
Does The Bar provide staff and bartenders?
YES! We staff the event based on how many guests you have. 1 bartender for less than 75 adults, 2 for 76-175, and 3 for 176-200.
Do you provide the alcohol too?
YES. Unlike most mobile bars, our packages include all alcohol, which will then be mixed and served by our fantastically talented bartenders.
What alcohol do you serve?
The Bar has a full liquor license in addition to serving bottled beer and wine. You may select one of our predesigned packages or we can mix and match to meet your beverage desires and quench your thirst.
Does The Bar require anything for setup?
We require access to flat ground for outdoor events, a 120 volt power outlet (within 100 feet), access to water, and 1-2 hours to setup. Don't have access to a power outlet? No problem. We can provide a generator for an additional fee.
Where can you do events?
The Fox Valley Area (within 20 miles from Downtown Elgin) is our primary market, but we are able to travel. Additional distances can be quoted individually. Please contact us to discuss the details.
How long can I rent The Bar for?
We require a 2-hour minimum and a 5-hour maximum of bar services. Please note that this does not include the time for set up & break down.
How is gratuity handled?
We have two ways tips are handled:
-
Allow a tip jar to be placed on the mobile bartending service bar for guests.
-
Opt for “hosted gratuity" in which the tip jar is eliminated and the host pays 20% gratuity of the total cost.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We require bookings to be made a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your event date to ensure proper staffing and materials. We also accept bookings up to 12 months in advance.
What happens if there is inclement weather?
Due to our advance bookings, in the event of inclement weather or cancellation, we will try our best to secure a secondary date. However, we cannot make any guarantees.
How is this even legal?
We use a State of Illinois beverage catering license and we are fully insured. We focus on private events where the bar is an incidential piece of the catered event. We can’t just pull up to any corner and serve drinks, although that would be awesome.
